Tarleton Lib Mobile App

Tarleton Libraries has a new app for iPhones and iPads! You can find it in the App Store by searching for "Tarleton Lib" or use the QR code below to download the app:

From the app you can search the library catalog, make book lists and even read e-books and online journals. You can also see what books you have checked out and manage your holds.

Want directions to the library? Need to call or e-mail us? You can do that from the app! You can find out more about library events and new library equipment under Library Events, and read this very blog under Library Blog.

Screenshots from iTunes.

Have fun with the app and, as always, if you have questions, ask a librarian!

Dick Smith Library's Mobile Apps: Ebscohost Databases App

Have you downloaded the Ebscohost App that allows you to search the Dick Smith Library’s Ebscohost databases yet?

I just downloaded the App to my iPhone and I love how easy it is to search the databases for my scholarly articles. This is great if you’re a student who is on the go like I am!

Check out the search I just conducted with a few simple key strokes!

EBSCO has just released an app for both iPhone/iPod and Androids. Click the link at the bottom of any EBSCOhost page to email yourself the download instructions, access key and a link to the app store. It is really important that you follow the directions carefully in order to get access to the library’s Ebscohost databases!

If you’re having trouble, be sure to ask a librarian for help!

    Mobile Resources

    Mobile Library Website

Check out our new mobile-friendly webpage on your smartphone or tablet computer. You can save time by searching the library catalog or renewing books while you’re out and about -- no more detours to your dorm or the nearest computer lab. You can also find our top ten databases, ask a librarian for help, get our hours and contact information, or browse our services/resources.

    Mobile-friendly Databases

Several of our database vendors now have mobile sites: American Chemical Society, JSTOR, IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Explore, EBSCO (a source for a wide range of databases), and others. These mobile sites let you search for and read articles without having to scroll to different parts of the page.
