Student Worker Appreciation Week

This is Student Worker Appreciation Week here at Tarleton State University, where we recognize the 967 student workers employed here.

Of those, 27 work here in the Dick Smith Library (DSL).  You are probably familiar with the workers at the Circulation desk, checking out items and laptops to you, and perhaps the students at the Periodicals desk, helping you find that elusive print journal.

Many of our student workers are behind the scenes, helping in Acquisitions unpacking new materials, and in Processing, getting those items ready to go on the shelves after they are added to our online catalog.  We also have student assistants in Interlibrary Loan, in Special Services on the lower level, and in the Systems and Administrative offices on the upper level.

The library would have a hard time functioning without our student workers, especially during the weeks before and during final exams when we are open extra hours.  We can't thank them enough.  The banner hanging in our foyer (pictured above) says it all - DSL Student Workers are GREAT!
