Dick Smith Library – Main Floor – Room 109V
As Circulation Manager, Clay is one of the first people many students meet in the Dick Smith Library. He oversees the operations of the Circulation Desk, including a number of student workers. Clay started in this position on October 4.
Clay was raised in Santa Anna, Texas, where he grew up on his family's ranch. Clay attended Santa Anna High School and graduated in 2002. After graduation he joined the United States Navy and was on board the USS Abraham Lincoln, a Nimitz-class supercarrier stationed in Everett, Washington, near Seattle. While in the Navy, Clay was an Aviation Administrator and was in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Southern Watch, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. While on board the USS Abraham Lincoln, he got the opportunity to witness President George W. Bush give his speech to the nation in regards toward the war in 2003. Clay has visited places such as Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bahrain, San Francisco, San Diego, Hawaii, Canada, and Japan.
Once Clay completed his active duty in May of 2006, he got married to his wife Daena. He graduated from Tarleton State University in December 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in business. In his free time, Clay enjoys spending time with his wife and their families, watching movies, listening to music, barbecuing, and cooking.
